Terms of Service

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Vlot’s services (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Description of Service

Vlot is a platform connecting consumers with independent coffee shops for pre-order and pickup. We facilitate orders but do not prepare, sell, or deliver food or beverages ourselves.

Account Registration

For Consumers

  • You must be 16+ years old
  • Provide accurate, current information
  • Maintain security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of unauthorized access

For Merchants

  • You must be a legally registered business in the Netherlands
  • Comply with all food safety and business regulations
  • Set accurate menu prices and availability
  • Accept orders in good faith

Orders and Payments

Consumer Responsibilities

  • Review order details before confirming
  • Pay via iDEAL, Wero, or accepted payment methods
  • Arrive within the agreed pickup window
  • Contact merchant directly for order issues

Merchant Responsibilities

  • Accept or reject orders within 2 minutes
  • Prepare orders accurately and on time
  • Maintain food safety standards
  • Honor prices displayed on the platform

Platform Fee

Merchants pay a 5% platform fee per completed order. Fees are deducted automatically from settlement payments.

Refunds and Cancellations

  • Consumer Cancellation: Free cancellation up to 5 minutes after placing order
  • Merchant Cancellation: Full refund issued; repeated cancellations may result in account suspension
  • No-Show: No refund if consumer doesn’t collect within 30 minutes of ready time
  • Quality Issues: Contact merchant first; unresolved issues escalated to support@qcut.nl

Prohibited Conduct

You may not:

  • Use the Service for illegal purposes
  • Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
  • Upload malicious code or attempt to breach security
  • Create fake accounts or manipulate reviews
  • Resell or redistribute the Service

Intellectual Property

All trademarks, logos, and content on Vlot are our property. Merchants grant us a license to display their menu, logo, and branding on the platform.

Liability Limitations

  • No Warranty: Service provided “as is” without guarantees
  • Merchant Actions: We are not liable for food quality, food safety, or merchant errors
  • Payment Disputes: Resolved through payment processors’ dispute resolution
  • Maximum Liability: Limited to the amount paid for the specific order

Dutch Law and Single-Use Plastics

  • Merchants must charge the mandatory €0.25 SUP fee for disposable cups (as per Dutch environmental law)
  • Consumers opting for “Bring Your Own Cup” are exempt
  • Merchants must report reuse rates to ILT (Environment & Transport Inspectorate)

Data Protection

See our Privacy Policy for details on data collection and use. By using Vlot, you consent to data processing as described.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Fraudulent activity
  • Chargebacks or payment disputes
  • Repeated customer complaints (merchants)

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be notified 30 days in advance.

Dispute Resolution

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Dutch law.

Resolution Process

  1. Contact support@qcut.nl to resolve informally
  2. If unresolved, escalate to mediation
  3. Final disputes resolved in courts of Amsterdam, Netherlands
